American wealth is at an all time high also, so is the average retirement account of Americans. IRead More feel sorry for anyone who followed your advice and did not share in the boom. Still waiting for your explanation of your failed Obama stock market collapse giddy prediction that went on for 2 years. WAITING !!!! Household Wealth Hits New All-time High Americans’ collective wealth hit the highest level ever at the end of last year, according to data released last Thursday, reflecting a surge in the value of stocks and homes that has boosted the net worth of many US households. The net worth of US households and nonprofit organizations rose 14% last year, or almost $10 trillion, to $80.7 trillion, the highest on record, according to the latest Federal Reserve report. Even adjusted for inflation, the Fed’s preferred gauge of prices, US household net worth – the value of homes, stocks and other assets, minus debts and other liabilities – hit a new record.

You gun phobes need to read the Constitution and the Federalist papers. 2A is not to be infringed,Read More and it is not about hunting. Learn your history. Your phobias do not trump the rights of the rest of us. Most of you, including 'enlightened' pols in the fashion of Oathbreaker John McKinney have no idea what you are talking about - it's like me telling Ben Carson how to perform brain surgery. You think the rest of us are solo irresponsible and stupid? Well chew on this, in my life, the ONLY individual I have ever come across that had a near miss with a child and a firearm (and I've know a few gun owners in my time) was a NEW YORK CITY POLICE OFFICER. So just stuff your 'gun safety' b.s. and work on something meaningful, like saving our country from imploding on itself through the acts of cry baby leftists like yourselves. I've really had about enough of you all 'who know better'. Take care of your family and leave mine alone and get your hands of the Constitution. There is a way to amend, this is not it!

Correction, I missed the two African-American women at the protest that you can see in the videoRead More over that the Greenwich Free Press site. Includes the woman at the end who says she does not see the need for "semi automatic, pump action" guns (mutually exclusive actions) nor the need for "clips" while she says she does understand the need to have guns to protect one's self. Uh, what is she saying? That she is in favor of muskets and single-shot shotguns for modern self-defense? And her opinion should matter to a journalist who does not understand how ill-informed this woman is? Nice to see two guys I know defending gun rights.

In Woodbury it is the stress of the property values decreasing and the ever increasing of taxes.Read More People can not afford their taxes now. Hi everyone here. What Christine Coleman said is very true though i may not know her. I experiencedRead More it first hand also. It was this organization called consumer loan firm (C.L.f)that really helped me to pay my medical bills when i was in dare need of money because i am a widow. A friend of my also directed me to them. when i was about to do a major operation and i had no money at that time, they came to my rescue and in less than 48 hours, i got my loan. But to say the truth, i was nervous and scared at first because i have been scammed twice. But when i summoned up courage and follow their lending policies along with my friends advice, at the end i found myself smiling. If not for them, maybe i would have been dead by now. I have even taken another loan from them start my business after my recovery which i am also paying back now. My only advice now is that any body who is really in need of loan should contact them with their email via: consumerloanfirm@gmail.com and get a loan from them. Thanks
This guy deserves his bad reputation.

My experience is not anecdotal, that is usually a one time situation. My experience spans 25 years,Read More in different industries, and being part of hiring thousands of people at all different job levels. I am sure there are companies who have discriminated but they are few and far between. With all the women in HR positions all over this country, if this was news, it would have been made news long ago. Plus, people are litigious and companies are not going to risk that. In addition, since I have been privy to employee lawsuits, I never saw ONE that had to do with pay disparity with men. Sometimes they had to do with sexual harrassment, however the biggest number, according to statistics, is retaliation for being on leave, and that has nothing to do with gender.

Frank in bury. If you are old enough to remember the O,Neil budget fiasco that resulted in theRead More implementation of the state income tax of 4.5%, the alternative was a 12% sales tax. That sales tax would have been also paid predominantly by Fairfield County residents. They carry, financially, the other 8 counties in Connecticut.
arkay July 22, 2014 at 12:57 am
@Gus, counties don't actually mean anything in CT, just geographic borders. Bridgeport is as much ofRead More a money suck as any city in the state, and that's in FFC. There's plenty of affluent communities in New Haven, Hartford, Litchfield counties (and elsewhere) that pay their fair share. Fairfield County does pay a proportionally high amount of taxes, but that is in a select few towns - definitely not northern or eastern FFC, which is more in line with other parts of the state.
Gus R. Horvath July 22, 2014 at 11:55 am
arkay. I was born and grew up in Bridgeport in the 1930s to1960s when it was known as the park city.Read More It was not the drag on Fairfield County it is today. I'm not even convinced that living here would be the best thing for them, particularly if they are entering a hostile environment. On a similar topic, the German half of my family fled a war torn country in 1950 and came to the U.S. Needless to say, Germans were not very well liked at that time. But of anyone, it was a Jewish man who gave my grandfather a job. He could easily have turned my grandfather away, but didn't. And for that, I am grateful. Different situation, of course.
