Warehouse Point Volunteer Fire Department

Flag as Inappropriate

The department is celebrating its 100th anniversary. According to its newsletter, the fire department was formed when it became apparent that the Windsor Locks Brigade was hampered by long trips across the Connecticut River to extinguish fires in Warehouse Point. By the time many of the responders reached a blaze they were exhausted from pulling and carrying equipment there. The Warehouse Point Volunteer Fire Department now has two fire stations. The headquarters (Station 138) is on Bridge Street and Station 238 is on Stoughton Road.
