I was at the Connecticut State Receiving Home 1966-68. I'm 55 years old now, and I still rememberRead More that horrible place. Those 2 years when I was 6 and 7 were horrible. I remember the Elswicks. They falsely accused me and others of so much wrong stuff. But I do remember while there watching Dr. ML Kings funeral in dorm 3, the USS Pueblo Navy ship being held hostage and the Tiger v. Red Sox World Series while there. The Elswicks had a paddle with holes in it they called "Cherry Pie." What happened to Jerry Myers?

The called it cherry pie because it left cherry size whelps on your butt when the it your bare buttRead More with it. I still don't know what happened in my life then to cause me to be sent there, except it was a money game to snatch poor kids from poor families to keep that place open. I've seen some kids in New Haven after I left, but we never acknowledge knowing each other from that place. We just looked at each and said hi and bye with our eyes and a slight head nod. Sad!

I was in dorm 3 with the Elswicks - dorm 2 With Jack Prouty Cathy Cook - dorm 1 with the Browns andRead More I know what you went through and I believe what you are saying that place was nothing but a torture shop for kids.. Handed out by adults who were suppose to keep us safe but ended up being just as bad as home life. I know man. But the good side is there will be retribution. I mean fuck sakes Steve Mooney went on to work for the department of human services in Conn after leaving warehouse point. He was abusive to alot of kids and he had the nerve to take on a job like this..
