RDA Competition Team Brings Home the Gold!

Rhythms Dance Academy, located in East Windsor, CT, just completed their 2013 Spring Competition Season with great success!   RDA traveled to six Regional Competitions in Rockville, CT, West Springfield, Springfield, and Andover, MA, and continued to pile up the awards throughout their journey.  Dancers, both girls and boys, age 5 through 14, competed in solos, duets and small groups in many varieties of dance.  The eleven member team brought home eight High Gold, eight Gold, and four High Silver adjudication awards.  They were also very proud to receive two Outstanding Performance Awards, one Best Costume Award, two Photogenic Awards, two 1st Overall Awards, one 4th Overall Award, one 5th in Category Award, one 8th Overall Award and one 1st in Category Award!    “It was a very rewarding experience for all the dancers”, commented Miss Heather, Owner/Director/Choreographer.  “Parents have commented that since their children have joined the competition team, they have been more outgoing and have developed stronger work habits in dance and in school.  They have formed strong relationships and have worked so well together as a team.”  

RDA was founded in 2006 and has been growing in the community each year, while maintaining a warm, friendly atmosphere that makes every dancer special.  They offer classes for children and adults in ballet, tap, pointe, hip hop, lyrical, acro and breakdancing, including adult tap classes and all boys hip hop classes.  They are currently closing out their fall season with a recital at Asnuntuck Community College in Enfield on June 8.  

They are also currently registering for an 8-week summer dance program, beginning on July 1st.  They also offer full and half day summer dance camps for ages 5-12 based on many different themes.  For more information on summer programs, visit their website at www.freewebs.com/rhythmsdance.
