State Rep. Christopher Davis (R-57) attended the 14th Annual Veterans Day 5K Road Race on Saturday, November 9. The event began with Rep. Davis and other local officials speaking during a memorial service followed by the 5K road race.
Rep. Davis also presented a citation to the family of the late George Butenkoff, who passed away in April of this year. Mr. Butenkoff was honored for his work in the community and his service to his country. He was dedicated to helping local veterans and others in the community and his work will be long remembered.
On Veterans' Day, Rep. Davis was also a guest speaker at the Ellington High School Veterans' Day Breakfast and Assembly.

“Veterans Day is a reminder for all of us to honor the Veterans that have served our country so proudly and the sacrifices that they have made to keep us safe,” said Rep. Davis. “The work and sacrifice of men like George Butenkoff should be an inspiration to us all.”
