What A Beautiful Day For A Ballgame

Windsor Locks Little League has its opening ceremonies Saturday.

It was a beautiful day to start the baseball season as the Windsor Locks Little League celebrated with opening day ceremonies at Saturday.

The celebration started with a parade of local and state officials, the Band, , , and most importantly the teams who make up the Windsor Locks Little League.

The 2012 season was dedicated to former president Chris Kervick, who also threw the ceremonial first pitch Saturday. Current president Dan Squires presented him with a plaque, First Selectman Steven N. Wawruck Jr. read a proclamation, as did State Rep. Peggy Sayers from the state legislature.

Kervick asked the players to pinch themselves, so they can remember, on a day 20 years in the future when things aren’t going so well, that on beautiful day like Saturday they were able to play baseball.
