UConn NCAA Championship Parade Set for Sunday, April 17

Connecticut will honor the Huskies with a parade and rally at the Capitol.

Husky fans will celebrate the University of Connecticut title on Sunday, April 17, with a parade in Hartford.

The parade will begin at 3 p.m. at the State Capitol on Capitol Avenue, Governor Dannel P. Malloy announced Wednesday. It will continue around Bushnell Park, Main Street and Capitol Avenue where it will return to the State Capitol for a rally held in the team’s honor.

"We’ve known for quite some time, but now the country knows, too – this is UConn Country," said Malloy. "Fans of all ages from across Connecticut will come together and show the players the pride that we have in our championship-winning UConn men’s basketball team."
