Windsor Locks Girls Basketball Tops Ledyard

The Raiders won the game 51-50 in overtime on Saturday.

 

The Windsor Locks Raiders girls varsity basketball team beat Ledyard in overtime at a home game Saturday night. Windsor Locks (Class S) beat Ledyard (Class M) with a final score of 51-50.

Mariah Brown scored 22 points for the Raiders, Dominique Boyd scored 13, Jessica Kuzmickas scored 10 points, Nikki LaPierre scored 4, and LeeAnn Douglas scored 2.  

It should also be noted that they beat another Class M team, Stonington, (54-52) on January 18. Brown scored 19 points, Kuzmickas 17, LaPierre and Boyd each scored 5, Swanson 4, Sayers and Douglas 2.  

The girls qualified for the Class S State Tournament on January 27 when they beat Somers (41-24) when Kuzmickas scored 16 points, LaPierre, Brown and Boyd each scored 6, Swanson 5, and Sayers 2.
