McDonald's, CAS Recognize East Windsor and Windsor Locks Students As Top Scholar Athletes

About 80 students across the state received the awards.

High school seniors from East Windsor and Windsor Locks were among those recognized as the state’s top scholar-athletes at the 2012 Connecticut Association of Schools (CAS) Scholar-Athlete Banquet sponsored by McDonald’s. A 29-year sponsor of the program with a longstanding commitment to educational programs in Connecticut, McDonald’s joined CAS to honor the following local students as the best of the best in the state:

  • William Kehoe and Demetria Estrada,
  • Michael Wiggin and Ashley Fabi,

“McDonald’s is proud to partner with CAS to honor the best and brightest high school scholar-athletes from all across Connecticut.   We applaud the state’s top students for both their academic and athletic achievement,” says Rachel Deane, McDonald's owner/operator and president of the Connecticut and Western Massachusetts McDonald's Owner/Operator Association. 

The Connecticut High School Scholar-Athlete 2012 Awards Banquet is the largest program of its type in the state. Only one male and one female student are eligible for the award through a nomination from their principal for: demonstrating exemplary academic and athletic careers including participating in an interscholastic athletics; possessing personal standards and achievements that are a model to others; exhibiting outstanding school; and community service and carrying themselves with high levels of integrity, self-discipline and courage.

Representative Davis is a smart young man. He obviously gets it, which certainly isn't thatRead More difficult. Unfortunately, the large majority of Democrats don't get it, and they are ruining our state. Take note David Kiner, Chris Davis has a clue, he gets it! As Mr. Davis has suggested, we are a ticking time bomb and unless we correct this spending and borrowing problem NOW we are absolutely doomed. We are on the same path places like Detroit have gone down and, as I'm sure you are all aware, that city is a wasteland. Since the Democrats have displayed an inability to do what is right for our state, each and every one of them needs to be voted out of office and replaced by leaders with a sense of fiscal discipline. Leaders that will spend OUR money with care. The future of our state, for ourselves and our children, depends on it!
