East Windsor School Registration for New Students

Students entering the East Windsor elementary and middle school for the first time may now register from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.  Elementary school children, grades kindergarten through 4, register at the , 14 Rye Street, Broad Brook.  Middle school students, grades 5 through 8, register at the , 38 Main Street, Broad Brook.   

High School students may register at , 76 S. Main Street (Route 5) by contacting the Guidance Office at 860-623-4426 between the hours of  9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Currently registered students can make schedule changes for the coming school year by contacting the high school guidance office.

Appointments will be made for  9 a.m to noon, and 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on August 23, August 24 and August 25.

Each new registrant must bring records of birth, immunizations, screening for tuberculosis, evidence of a physical examination that has been completed within 12 months prior to the date of student registration, and proof of residency. High school registrants should also submit copies of academic transcripts. Any other information that parents feel would be of value to the school should be presented.

Physical examinations for students planning to participate in a fall sport program must be completed by a physician and presented to the school nurse on or before August 25, in order to participate. These physicals must have been completed on or after
June 15, 2011. 

Physical exams can be provided by the school medical advisor, without charge, to students whose parent or guardian meets the eligibility requirement of free and reduced lunch under the National School Lunch Program. 

Physical forms are available in the school offices.  The forms must be returned to the school nurse before athletes may participate in their chosen sport. 
   
On August 30, a school visitation is scheduled at Broad Brook Elementary School from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Parents and children are invited to visit classrooms and meet newly assigned homeroom teachers.  

Buses will be available at Broad Brook School for children starting pre-k and kindergarten. The children can take a short bus ride and learn the bus safety rules.

Please note, if your child's bus stop will be different than your home address due to day care arrangements, you must come into the school office as soon as possible to fill out a Change of Transportation form.  Changes will not take effect until September 7.

Broad Brook School and East Windsor Middle School will open on August 31, with a full day schedule. Starting this year, Broad Brook School will be instituting a full-day kindergarten program for all kindergarteners. Kindergarteners will begin school on September 7. 

East Windsor High School opens August 31 with its annual “First Day” program for all 9th grade students, new students and parents. The program includes a shortened day schedule and lunch. All freshmen are required to attend this half-day program.  Classes for upperclassmen begin September 1.

Please note the following regular day opening and dismissal times:

  • East Windsor High School: 7:30 a.m. starting time; and 2:05 p.m. dismissal.

 

  • East Windsor Middle School: 8:10 a.m. starting time; and 2:45 p.m. dismissal.

  • Broad Brook Elementary School: 9:05 a.m. starting time; and 3:40 p.m. dismissal.   

          A.M. Pre-Kindergarten: 9:05 a.m. starting time; and 11:55 a.m. dismissal.


          P.M. Kindergarten: 12:50 p.m. starting time; and 3:40 p.m. dismissal.

Students not using school transportation should arrive at school 10 minutes prior to starting time.
