East Windsor Board of Education To Meet on Different Day

Board members change meeting date to Wednesdays to avoid scheduling conflicts.

The East Windsor Board of Education on Thursday changed the days on which its meetings will be held.

Board members voted to hold the meetings on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month starting in February.

Board Chairman Christopher Mickey said the board’s policy requires the meetings held on the first Tuesday of the month, but that is the same night as the board of selectmen’s meetings. The policy doesn’t specifically require a second meeting during the month, he said.

For the past few years the board has generally met on the first and third Thursdays of the month. But because Thursdays has become a timing conflict for many of the board members, they decided to change the meeting date.

Board Member Kathleen Bilodeau said she has scheduling conflicts with Thursdays.

At their January 5 meeting, the board decided to hold their meetings on Tuesdays again and to have them on the Tuesdays that don’t conflict with the board of selectmen meetings. At Thursday’s meeting they revisited on which day the meetings should be held.

When Board Member Catherine Simonelli said she was open to having meetings on Wednesday, the rest of the board agreed that would be a good night to hold their meetings.

The meetings will still be at 7:30 p.m. and held in  Room N-4 of .
