Area Students Make Colleges' Dean's Lists

Local students who were recently announced to their respective colleges' or universities' Dean's Lists.

The University of Hartford announced the following local students have been named to the Dean's List for Spring 2012.

Bruce G. Barger, of Broad Brook has been named to the dean's list for the spring 2012 semester at the University of Vermont. Barger is a junior Communication Science & Disorders major in the College of Nursing & Health Sciences. To be named to the dean's lists, students must have a grade-point average of 3.0 or better and rank in the top 20 percent of their class in their respective college or school.

Briana Matteson of East Windsor who is majoring in Nursing at UMass Dartmouth, has been named to the Spring 2012 Dean's List in recognition of earning a semester grade point average of 3.2 or higher of a possible 4.0.

The University of Rhode Island is announced that 4,042 undergraduates have qualified for the Spring 2012 Dean's List. To be included on the Dean's List, students must have completed 12 or more credits during a semester for letter grades with at least a 3.30 quality point average. Part-time students qualify with the accumulation of 12 credits with a 3.30 quality point average.

Jacob Pelletier, son of Alan and Anthelena Pelletier of Broad Brook was named to the Dean's List for the spring 2012 semester at Saint Michael's College. Pelletier is a Sophomore Political Science & Sociology and Anthropology major at the liberal arts, residential Catholic college located in Burlington, Vermont, one of America's top 10 college towns. Students who complete a minimum of 12 credits and achieve a grade point average of at least 3.4 at the end of a semester are recognized for their scholarship by inclusion on the Dean's List.

The following students have been named to Dean's List at Western New England University for the spring semester of 2012. Students are named to the Dean's List for achieving a semester grade point average of 3.30 or higher.

Matthew T. Winot of Broad Brook, CT, a Junior majoring in Criminal Justice.

Matthew F. Carestia of Enfield, CT, a Senior majoring in General Biology.

Adam W. Damke of Windsor Locks, CT, has been named to the President's List at Western New England University for the spring semester of 2012. Damke is a Senior majoring in Business Information Systems. Students are named to the President's List for achieving a semester grade point average of 3.80 or higher.

Sacred Heart University, Fairfield, Conn., has announced the Dean's List for the spring semester 2012. To receive this honor, a student must achieve a 3.6 grade average, based on a 4.0 scale.

Amanda Ferrari of Broad Brook has made the dean's list.

American International College in Springfield, Mass., has named 450 students to the Spring 2012 Dean's List. Dean's List students are full-time students, with a grade point average between 3.3 and 4.0 for the semester.

Magdalena Druzga of East Windsor was among the AIC students recognized for academic achievement. Druzga is a Junior majoring in Criminal Justice.

Jasmine Byrd of Windsor Locks was among the AIC students recognized for academic achievement. Byrd is a Sophomore majoring in Undeclared.

Keene State College has released the Dean's List for the spring semester 2012. Among the 1,390 students named to the Dean's List are:

The following students were named to the Dean's List at the University of New Haven for the spring 2012 semester. Full-time undergraduate students must have a 3.50 or better cumulative GPA for the semester to be eligible for the Dean's List.
