Across the state of Connecticut, foreclosure activity jumped by 33 percent in July compared to last year, according to the Hartford Business Journal, citing reports from Reality/Trac, which specializes in housing data compilation.
Locally, however, foreclosure figures tell a different tale.
In July 2013, there were eight foreclosure notices filed with the town of East Windsor. That number essentially held steady, with seven notices having been filed in the same month of 2012.
Through August 14, summer foreclosure activity has equalled that of 2012, with 18 foreclosure notices filed in East Windsor in June, July and Half of August.
In Windsor Locks, foreclosure notices were nearly cut in half in July 2013 compared to July 12, with four notices having been filed with the town.
Through August 14, the total number of summer notices is also less, with 20 having been filed in June, July and August of this year.
