East Windsor Residents Fear Losing Their Homes
Landowner Creative Housing Inc. has unpaid taxes on the land the houses sit on.
Several homeowners in East Windsor are facing the possibility that their property could be "auctioned off right out from under them," the Hartford Courant reports.
The residents, who live off Phelps Road, don't own the land their homes are built on, and fear they may soon be forced to leave because landowner Creative Housing Inc. owes the town money in back taxes and faces foreclosure, according to the Courant.
"If this goes to auction, they could tell us to get off the land," Cheryl Fraser, a longtime resident, told the Courant.
