Windsor Locks First Selectman Addresses Safety at Town Meetings

Windsor Locks First Selectman Steve Wawruck addresses safety following a shooting during a Pennsylvania town meeting.

In the wake of a Pennsylvania town meeting shooting that claimed the lives of three and injured four, Windsor Locks First Selectman Steve Wawruck took the opportunity to address safety in town.

"We have our share of contentious meetings here," Wawruck said, encouraging his colleagues to be on alert at meetings, especially police commission meetings.

Wawruck advised those in attendance to pay attention to any potentially hostile meeting attendees and to address the situation without causing alarm.

On Monday, a 59-year-old Pennsylvania man barged into his local town hall, shooting several people before being tackled by a town official.

The shooting, according to NPR, took place during Ross Township's monthly town meeting.
