Windsor Locks Budget Passes on Third Try

Windsor Locks voters approved the finance committee's proposed $46.5 million budget.

The third time was the charm for the Windsor Locks finance committee's budget proposal.

Voters turned out to polls Tues., July 2 for the third referendum of the season, this time approving the proposal by a 828-692 vote.

In district 1, voters approved the proposal by a vote of 448 to 349.

Things were a bit closer in district 2, where voters approved the proposal by a vote of 380-343.

20 percent of registered voters turned out to cast their votes.

The spending plan approved represents an overall spending increase of just over $1 million, including a $400,000 bump in funding for public safety.
