Windsor Locks and East Windsor Property Taxes Due Now

The second installment of real estate and personal property, along with supplemental motor vehicle taxes are due by month's end.

With the welcoming of each new year, taxpayers throughout the state are reminded that it's time to open up their checkbooks, take to on-line banking or head to their local Tax Collector's office to fork over the balance owed on their local and state taxes.

The taxes owed this month include the second installment of personal property, real estate and supplemental motor vehicle. To help you keep it all straight, here is some information provided by the tax collectors' offices in Windsor Locks and East Windsor:

East Windsor:

Taxes may be paid on-line through the Town of East Windsor Tax Collector's page, or in person at the office in the Town Hall at 11 Rye St. Office hours are Monday through Wednesday 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Thursday 8:30 a.m. - 7 p.m., and Friday 8:30 a.m. - 1 p.m..  

Remember, tax bills are mailed out once per fiscal year in June and include two installment stubs. In other words, don't go looking in your mailbox for a bill this month, it's not there. If you have any questions about how much you owe by month's end contact the tax collector's office at (860) 623-8904.

Supplemental motor vehicle bills have beem mailed out this month. Regardless of whether you receive a paper bill, if you owe, you owe. It's best to call the tax collector's office if you have any questions about your status.

If payment is not made by Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, the tax becomes delinquent and subject to interest at the rate of 1 1/2 percent per month retroactive to Jan. 1, 2013. 

Windsor Locks:

Taxes may be paid on-line through the Windsor Locks Tax Collector's Office page on the town website, or in person at the office in the Town Hall at 50 Church St. Office hours are Monday through Wednesday 8 a.m. - 4 p.m., Thursday 8 a.m. - 6 p.m., and Friday 8 a.m. - 1 p.m..
