“This pre-legislative session is a great opportunity for me to touch base with our local leaders and to hear their thoughts and comments,” Kissel said in a press release. “I value their input and I take their policy ideas to Hartford.  We want to continue to do everything we can to work as a team to improve the quality of life here in north-central Connecticut.”

Kissel noted that he wants to build upon the momentum created last year by the bipartisan Jobs Bill. Kissel was successful in including new funding into that bill _ an extra $2.2 million over two years _ for Asnuntuck Community College's Manufacturing Technology Center, the press release said.

“We fought for that funding because we believe in Asnuntuck – this is great news for north-central Connecticut,” Kissel said.  “Asnuntuck's training program meets the needs of businesses who want new employees to be able to hit the ground running.  This is a wise investment in Connecticut’s future, and it helps all of our communities.”

Kissel encouraged the public to contact him with their thoughts and ideas at John.A.Kissel@cga.ct.gov or at 800 842 1421.
