Rep. Davis Releases Update on Repairs to Route 140 in East Windsor

The pavement in that area has eroded to the point where a portion of the road has slightly collapsed.

It's been nearly two weeks since State Department of Transportation (DOT) workers shut down Route 140 eastbound in East Windsor near Route 191, and State Representative Christopher Davis (R-57), says he's "pressing" for repairs to be completed.

In a statement released Monday on his Web site Davis said:

"Please know that I have been actively pressing for a speedy resolution to the issue, and have been in contact with the state Department of Transportation to make sure our community is returned to normalcy as soon as possible."

Davis continued by saying that the DOT has been working with Connecticut contractor Lane Construction to complete the job "as fast as possible," though there is currently no timeline for the project's completion.

"Unfortunately, the extent of the failure and the need to determine its cause have led to numerous unforeseen design issues that make the determination of when the project will be complete unknown at this time," Davis said.
