Position you’re seeking: 1st Selectman

Information about your family: I have lived in East Windsor for 34 years. I am married and have raised 5 children. My children attended East Windsor Public Schools and have gone on to further their education.

Occupation:  Retired from United Technologies, Hamilton Sundstrand, Windsor Locks, CT

Political Experience:  Vice-Chairman East Windsor Conservation Commission, Commissioner East Windsor Inland & Wetlands, campaigned for IAM Union sponsored candidates

Other Experience:  Loaned executive for United Way, IAM Union Steward, IAM Union Negotiation Committee, general construction contractor

Why did you run for office?  I feel that the town can benefit from my education and lifetime experiences.  This will enable me to improve the communications between the community and town government.  I feel that I can make a positive difference for the residents and businesses of East Windsor.

If elected, what would be your primary areas of focus?

1. Tax Relief for homeowners
2. Incentives for new businesses and old business that sponsor new businesses
3. Improving communication
 
What do you feel is the biggest issue facing East Windsor today?  The challenge of generating a healthy, industrial tax base while keeping the attractiveness of a rural community for residents.

What skills do you have that you could bring to the community?  My business management aptitude, strong negotiation skills and the ability to think outside the box.

Anything else you would like to share?  As president of the East Windsor Senior Club, one of the frequent complaints is the poor communications between senior residents and the town government.
