Letter: Kevin Brace for Windsor Locks Police Commission

Sue Caldon asks voters's support for Brace.

Of all the candidates that are running for election in Windsor Locks, I have to say that there is one candidate that stands out among the rest. Windsor Locks native, Kevin Brace is running for Police Commission. Throughout his 17-year career with the Connecticut Department of Correction, Brace has earned a reputation as a leader in areas of policy, advocacy, and communications.

It’s no secret that the police department as well as the commission has been under media and public scrutiny for a year now. Brace is confident that he can help to rebuild community trust by calling for a complete review and update of all departmental policies and procedures.

Throughout his life and career he has proven to be a strong leader that portrays confidence and a positive demeanor.  Brace regularly conveys confidence towards proposed objectives and actively inspires others around him to do the same.

An advocate for town pride, Brace created a public information blog, “Save Windsor Locks”, which currently has over 1,100 followers and is a reliable source of information for residents. Brace also believes in the economic value of supporting local businesses. He realizes that money spent at community-based merchants creates a multiplier effect in the local economy and strongly supports Windsor Locks businesses on his blog.

On a personal note, I recently met Kevin Brace and his family, and I was delighted to find that he and his wife are raising three beautiful and respectful children. When you meet young children that exude characteristics like honesty and integrity it is clearly a reflection of their parents. For these reasons, I support Kevin Brace for Windsor Locks Police Commission.
