East Windsor to Host Workshop for Route 140 Corridor Development

The town will be hosting a public workshop on the topic of the development of Route 140 from Shohem Rd to Mullen Rd.

The town of East Windsor will be holding a public economic development workshop at the Scout Hall Youth Center at 28 Abbe Rd. on Thursday evening at 7:00 pm. Town planning officials and consultants will present and seek input on various strategies for the development of the Route 140 corridor.

The event, called a Visionary Workshops is designed to present ideas for the development of the area with the ultimate aim of drafting zoning regulations encouraging the desired growth. Heidi Samokar, a representative of Planimetrics of Avon, a consulting firm hired by the town will offer pictures, streetscapes, and possible layouts for the corridor.

Town officials will take the feedback from the audience to develop the regulations. Planometrics was the firm responsible for assembling the 2004 Plan of Conservation and Development and so has a good handle of the needs of the town, according to Town Planner Laurie Witten.
