East Windsor Receives Nearly $190,000 from Feds for October 2011 Storm Clean Up

FEMA reimburses up to 75 percent in clean up costs for municipalities.

The Town of East Windsor will be reimbursed $186,762 of its costs for the October 2011 storm clean up, First Selectwoman Denise E. Menard said.

FEMA reimburses 75 percent of the cost of such clean ups. Menard said the town’s net cost for the clean up was $63,254.

“An amount we should be pretty proud of when a number of towns spent in the millions, some towns needing to bond for the expense,” Menard said.

Residents voted to allow spending up to $70,000 of the town’s money for the clean up. Town officials used local companies to haul away and dispose of the debris.
