East Windsor 2011 Elected Officials Get Sworn In Tuesday

Lt. Gov. Nancy Wyman swore in all of the newly-elected officials during a ceremony at town hall.

Newly-elected East Windsor officials were sworn in during a ceremony Tuesday at town hall.

Lt. Gov. Nancy Wyman swore in the officials as many stood next to their family members. Wyman said the most difficult elective office she’s held is as a member of her local board of education.

“It’s really an honor for me to be here,” Wyman said. “Those of you who have won, I want to congratulate and thank you.”

First Selectwoman Denise E. Menard said her first four-year term had been wonderful and challenging. Those four years were rewarding and the board members she worked with were wonderful, she said.

Menard said she thinks the economy will still present problems to the town, but she believes the new elected officials will work together to meet them.

“I really think we have an equal amount of challenges but in a different way,” Menard said. “Together we’ll move people in a different direction.”
