Christopher Davis To Seek Second Term in District 57

Davis, a Republican, is seeking his party's endorsement this week.

State Rep. Christopher Davis (R– Ellington) announced his intentions to seek re-election to the Connecticut House of Representatives for the 57th Assembly District, which will include Ellington and most of East Windsor.

Davis was first elected to the state house to represent the 57th District in 2010, and is currently the youngest serving member of the General Assembly.

“If re-elected, I will continue the fight for lower taxes, limited spending, and smaller government in order to provide common sense solutions to our state’s mounting issues,” Davis said in a press release. “There is more work to be done in order to continue to help make a better Connecticut, and I will continue to work hard to best represent the interests of the people of East Windsor and Ellington."

“I will continue to be an advocate for job creators in Hartford so we can help get Connecticut back to work,” Davis added. “We need to work together to lift burdensome taxes, policies, and regulations that have kept too many people in our community unemployed for too long.”

Davis said he has conducted numerous business tours throughout the district, along with hosting small business forums and forming a Business Advisory Council, as an example of his commitment to creating job growth in the state’s economy.

Beyond simply casting votes and proposing legislation, Davis pointed to constituent services as his main priority.

“During these difficult economic times, we need a representative that can help our community members in need navigate the bureaucracies of state government, and I have been that representative,” said Davis. “I have hosted numerous town hall meetings, office hours, and forums to keep our community informed of the issues that are important to them. I desire to continue this dialogue to help make Connecticut, and our community, an even better place to live, raise a family, and operate a business.”

An Ellington resident raised in East Windsor, Davis attended East Windsor Public Schools from kindergarten through high school graduation. He continued his education at the University of Connecticut, where he obtained both a Bachelors and a Master’s degree in Political Science. Before his election to the state legislature, Davis previously studied towards a Ph.D in Political Science from the University of Connecticut.

Davis currently practices real estate in the Greater Hartford area, and resides in Ellington with his wife, Emily.

Davis will seek the Republican Party’s endorsement at its nominating convention on Wednesday at Hall Memorial Library in Ellington.
