Campaign Notebook: Bysiewicz Ad Concerns Domestic Violence Group

News and updates from the campaign trail in Connecticut.

Second District

Paul Formica (R): Formica, who will face off against fellow-Republican Daria Novak on Aug. 14 in a Republican primary, has picked up two more newspaper endorsements. The Norwich Bulletin and The Day, of New London, have endorsed the East Lyme first selectman. Formica also was endorsed by the Hartford Courant last week as its primary pick.

Daria Novak (R): Novak will take part in a "Candidate Forum" at 7 p.m., today at Vernon Town Hall. Here's what she posted about it on Facebook:

  • "It is going to be a very busy today, ending with a Candidate Forum tonight at the Vernon Town Hall at 7 pm between your conservative candidate and the liberal running for US Congress in CT-02. Voters only will be asking questions from the floor. No pre-planned or media questions allowed, just you the voters discussing the issues of the day. The Forum will give your candidates a chance for presentign our solutions, with more in depth answers, rather than an attack-style debate. We will be talking only about the national issues facing our nation. You get to decide who is better prepared to take on the Democrat this fall. Of course, I know the answer to that question! lol"

As a voter in the 2nd District of Connecticut, my support is with Daria Novak! I have followed Daria's campaign all along and find she is very knowledgeable in the very issues that Connecticut is facing. She knows what the people of the 2nd District are so upset about and why it seems nothing is getting done. She believes in reducing taxes to grow the economy and to reduce some of the regulations put upon us that are slowing down progress for this Nation. She believes Education Decisions belong with Local Communities this in the long run will better enable parents, and local towns and cities to be more involved in the process. I find that Education issues are a problem all over this country not just Connecticut. I feel we need to bring this out of the Federal Government hands and put it right back at the State Level!!! I have not met Daria nor have I been able to get to the various meetings, but I sure plan to meet with her when she makes her visit to Vernon!
