Windsor Man Charged With Hitting Another Man With Car in Windsor Locks

The incident happened in the parking lot of a Windsor Locks hotel Sunday night.

A 23-year-old Windsor man was arrested Sunday night at a hotel in Windsor Locks after allegedly running over another man with a car and trying to hit another man.

Benjamin Demato, of 293 Mountain Road, Windsor, is charged with first-degree assault, criminal attempt to commit first-degree assault, first-degree criminal mischief and first-degree reckless endangerment.

Police Cap. Chester DeGray said police were called to the Ramada Inn on Ella Grasso Turnpike at 10:43 p.m. The incident happened in the parking lot of the hotel. What triggered the event was not clear Tuesday.

The man hit by the car was taken to a hospital for observation, DeGray said.

Demato was arraigned in Enfield Superior Court on Monday and released on a $50,000 surety bond. His next court date is scheduled for March 28
