Update: Murder/Suicide Took Lives of Windsor Locks Husband and Wife

The couple's children were not home at the time of the shootings.

Windsor Locks police investigated a murder/suicide yesterday on Webb Street, and multiple news outlets reported the couple has been identified.

Stuart Duncan, 51, and Brigitte Duncan, 44, died yesterday from gunshot wounds.

Based on autopsy results and the state medical examiner's office, the Hartford Courant reported Stuart Duncan shot Brigitte Duncan in the chest before shooting himself in the head.

A family member who lived with the couple found them on the house's first floor, according to the Courant. Police went to 36 Webb St. around 1:15 p.m. Monday.

Police told the Courant that the couple had children, who were not home at the time of the shootings.

Eyewitness News reported the children were away at camp and they are currently staying with relatives.

The Windsor Locks Wellness Coalition page on Facebook has posted advice about talking to questioning children about this kind of difficult situation.

The coalition shared this link on how to talk to children about suicide.

The following is a post by the Windsor Locks Wellness Coalition at 4:11 p.m. Tuesday:
UPDATE on response to yesterday's tragedy. By tomorrow a unified response will be posted on the school website for parents and other adults with information they may wish to view and use when responding to youth's questions about trauma. In the meantime, please do not repeat information that 'someone said' or 'that the press said'. We all know the game of 'telephone' and inaccurate information that gets repeated will only add further anxiety for adults and youth in the community.
