A Suffield family of four was left homeless following an overnight fire that destroyed their home.
Firefighters were called to the home on Poole Road just before 11:30 p.m. Thursday and they found smoke and flames shooting from the home when they arrived, according to reports.
Suffield Fire Chief Chuck Flynn told WFSB Eyewitness News a family of four people in the home escaped. However the mother was taken to a hospital for observation. She's since been released.
Departments from neighboring Enfield, Southwick and Windsor Locks were called to the scene to assist with bringing water into the scene. They said the closest water source was a small stream about 1,800 feet away.
The State Fire Marshal was still on the scene Friday morning, according to FOX CT.
