Timothy Olschafskie, 20, has been charged with killing seven cats that were rescued.

Following a six-month investigation by the animal control department, a 20-year-old Windsor Locks man was arrested Wednesday for allegedly murdering seven cats.

The Hartford Courant reports that Timothy Olschafskie, 20, has been charged with seven counts of animal cruelty and was held on $150,000 bail after he allegedly murdered seven cats. The cats were the pets of a family that took in rescue animals, according to the newspaper.

The Courant reports that the cats died "under suspicious circumstances," with police releasing no more information on how they died. Olschafskie had been dating a member of the family that had the rescue cats, according to the newspaper.
