Following a six-month investigation by the animal control department, a 20-year-old Windsor Locks man was arrested Wednesday for allegedly murdering seven cats.

The Hartford Courant reports that Timothy Olschafskie, 20, has been charged with seven counts of animal cruelty and was held on $150,000 bail after he allegedly murdered seven cats. The cats were the pets of a family that took in rescue animals, according to the newspaper.

The Courant reports that the cats died "under suspicious circumstances," with police releasing no more information on how they died. Olschafskie had been dating a member of the family that had the rescue cats, according to the newspaper.

Only a disturbed individual would do such a horrible deed.

"arrested Wednesday for allegedly murdering seven cats" So what is it when someone shoots a deer? "Hunting" Just saying cats rock but using the word murdered is wrong. Maybe cruelty or something but its not like the deer enjoys being hunted. Piss poor choice of words editor...

I am gathering a group of concerned citizens to show up at Olschafskie's hearing Jan 30 , 10 am at Enf. Sup. Ct. on Phoenix Ave. We will be wearing black 2 show solidarity. I will be there starting at 9 with some signs and then inside. Someone needs to be a voice for the voiceless. The lax laws regarding animal abuse arent even enforced...I wish to see that this person is off the streets...he is obviously a danger. I will be showing up at all of the hearings and I invite you to join me, the more the better. Message me at Kim Hamilton on facebook. Thanks and I hope to see you there.
