[Updated] Police Investigate East Windsor Murder

Zachary McArthur, 22, of Enfield, was shot at Mill Pond Village apartment complex.

Police are investigating the death of a 22-year-old Enfield man who was shot Sunday evening at an East Windsor apartment complex, according to East Windsor police.

According to a police press release, Zachary McArthur was shot inside a Mill Pond Village apartment around 10 p.m.

According to WFSB, investigators on Monday executed a search warrant inside the Mill Pond Village apartment where one person of interest in the crime, Michael Thompson, lives.

There is a second person of interest - Antonio “Tony” Gonzalez - who was from Enfield but recently moved back to the Miami area, WFSB said.

The killing is believed to be drug-related, according to WFSB.

"All parties involved knew each other and this was not a random act of violence," the police press release said.

McArthur made it back to Enfield when he was driven by his girlfriend after he was shot, WFSB said. The 911 call came in at 10:02 p.m., according to police and McArthur was transported to Hartford Hospital, where he later died.

The state police major crime unit is assisting with the case, police said.

Anyone with information is urged to call the East Windsor Police Department at 860-292-8240.
