Police: East Windsor Student Made Threats Against Bloomfield Magnet School

The student was removed from the school, according to police.

East Windsor police and federal law enforcement officials seized weapons from an East Windsor home on Tuesday after a student allegedly made a threat against his school, the Metropolitan Learning Center in Bloomfield, according to various news outlets.

"According to the East Windsor police department, a student made a veiled threat to the safety and security of some members of his community and possibly the Metropolitan Learning Center," said Aura Alvarado, director of communications for CREC, which operates the school, the Hartford Courant reported.

WFSB Channel 3 and the Courant reported that police on Wednesday said that the information of the alleged threat was passed on through a third-party.

Police and members of the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms executed a search warrant on the East Windsor home on Tuesday, according to the Courant.

Parents of the school were notified of the incident and the student was removed from the school, the Courant reported.
