Original Story

An Enfield man who was paroled from prison seven months ago has been charged in connection with the fatal crash that killed a pair of East Windsor residents early Tuesday morning.

Kyle R. Berry, 46, of 52 Bailey Road, is charged with felony evading responsibility, and is being held on $1 million bond, Police Chief Carl Sferrazza said.

Berry is the owner of the pickup truck sought in connection with the crash that killed Michael Kennedy, 57, and Colleen Caruso, 34. Police said the truck driven by Berry collided with a car driven by Glen McIntyre, 32, of East Windsor, around 1 a.m. on Broad Brook Road just south of Fletcher Road.

McIntyre and a passenger, Joanna Olden, 31, of Enfield, remain hospitalized at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.

Sferrazza said police are continuing to investigate the crash. "We expect more charges to be lodged against (Berry)," he said.

According to Department of Correction records, Berry was paroled from prison on July 9, 2011, after serving less than a year and a half of a 30-month sentence for killing his neighbor's cat and violating probation in 2008.
