Firefighters Knock Down Kitchen Fire Wednesday

Firefighters put out a kitchen fire in a home on the southwest corner of Newberry and Thompson roads Wednesday.

Warehouse Point Fire Chief Jim Barton said the blaze was extinguished quickly and no one was injured. A few animals had to be rescued from the home, Barton added.

The state fire marshal's office was at the scene around 3:30 p.m.
