East Windsor DUI Checkpoint Nabs Three Drivers

The East Windsor Police Department, with Metro Traffic Services, ran the checkpoint Friday night on North Road.

A Friday night DUI checkpoint on North Road in East Windsor resulted in three such arrests, police said.

The conducted the checkpoint from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. in conjunction with Metro Traffic Services, officials said in a press release. It was funded with a grant from the state Department of Transportation. Officers from Windsor, Enfield and Manchester participated in the effort.

Geoffrey Bieleski, 27, of 45 East Street South, Suffield; Kathleen Edge, 52, of 126 Rockville Road, Broad Brook; and Steven Viveiros, 41, of 1 Edmund Lane, Enfield, were all charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence.

Three other individuals were charged with possession of marijuana. Ten field sobriety tests were give. Eleven infractions were issued for motor vehicle violations, and 44 warnings were given for motor vehicle violations, police said.
