Connecticut Fire Academy of Windsor Locks to Graduate Area Residents

The ceremony will be held Saturday, July 20.

High school students representing fire departments from area towns are set to graduate from the Connecticut Fire Academy's Introduction to the Fire Service Program Saturday.

"The class of 26 high school students from 22 Fire Departments around the state have spent 6 days in an intense, residential camp where they have been immersed in a global perspective of the fire service," reads a statement from the academy.

  • Canterbury;
  • Ellington;
  • Durham; 
  • Enfield;
  • Glastonbury;
  • Goshen;
  • Hamden;
  • Hampton;
  • North Coventry;
  • Northville; 
  • South Windsor; 
  • Southbury; 
  • Terryville; 
  • Thomaston; 
  • Waterford; 
  • Watertown; 
  • West Haven; 
  • Willington Hill; and 
  • Wolcott.

Students have become educated in everything from the Incident Command System, to Wildland Fire Suppression, to Engine, Ladder and Rescue company fireground operations. 

The ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Connecticut Fire Academy, located at 34 Perimeter Rd. in Windsor Locks.
