Bicyclist Dies in Hospital After Being Struck By A Car In East Windsor Saturday Night

East Windsor Police say the East Hartford man is in critical condition.

A 52-year-old East Hartford man is in critical condition after being struck by a car Saturday night while he was riding a bicycle on Main Street in the Warehouse Point section of East Windsor, police said.

The driver of the car, Tara Sylvester, 22, of 22 Impala Drive, Enfield, is charged with operating a car under the influence of alcohol.

Police said a preliminary investigation reveals that Sylvester was driving a Dodge Charger northbound on Main Street, and Jay Albert, last known address, 30 Hillside Street, Apt. C2, East Hartford, was riding the bicycle southbound when the collision happened.

Albert was taken by East Windsor Ambulance to Hartford Hospital. East Windsor police are continuing to investigate the incident and additional charges may be pending.
