A Windsor Locks Middle School Student Referred to Juvenile Review Board For Carrying a BB Gun on Bus

Police found the gun in the student's backpack, police said.

A Windsor Locks Middle School student was referred to the town’s juvenile review board after being discovered with a BB gun on a school bus Tuesday afternoon.

Capt. Chester DeGray said the police department received a phone call around 4 p.m. that a driver for Smyth Bus Co. had learned that a student possibly had a gun on board. The driver drove the bus to the police station.

When police further investigated the report, they found BB gun in a student’s backpack. The gun had an orange plastic tip to indicate it was not a real gun, DeGray said.

The student didn’t show the pellet gun or threaten anyone, DeGray said.
