WL Police Commissioner, Mike Royston, Quickly Joins The Fold

When you cast your vote for a New Windsor Locks Police Commissioner you are looking for NEW BLOOD,NEW IDEAS, NEW LEADERSHIP, TRANSPARENCY and ACCOUNTIBILITY and ABOVE ALL a CHANGE FROM THE GOOD OLE BOY SYSTEM OF OPERATING. When I voted for Mike Royston, I believed that Mike would bring all of these Qualities to the Windsor Locks Board of Police Commissioner !!

On December 12, 2013 my trust in Mike Royston was shattered a bit. Prior to December 12, 2013 The Public was given (2) two opportunities to address the Police Commission. The first opportunity was PUBLIC INPUT where he Public could express their thought, concerns, and suggestions. Regardless of what you had to say, the standard response from Police Commissioner Chairman Kevin Brace and his Predecessosr, is generally, “THANK YOU FOR YOUR INPUT”

The 2nd opportunity to speak is AGENDA ITEMS ONLY  where the Public is allowed to ask questions and make comments on subjects that were discussed. This allows he Public an opportunity to ask questions to  CLARIFY and MAKE SUGGESTIONS. There has been a concerted effort on behalf of THE WINDSOR LOCKS POLICE COMMISSION TO REMAIN UNACCOUNTABLE TO THE PUBLIC.  There is even A GREATER EFFORT TO SILENCE THE PUBLIC  EIHER BECAUSE They ARE PREJUDICE TOWARD THE SPEAKER AND IT APPEARS THAT THEY HAVE UTTER CONTEMP FOR THE PUBLIC WHEN THEY ASK THE TOUGH QUESTIONS When it comes to the Police Commission preparing and justifying their Operating Budget and  Capital Improvements there is a lot of SMOKE AD MIRRORS THAT GOES UNQUESTIONED!! I can count on new ly elected Board of Finance Member Paul Harrington TO debunk the Police Dept. 2013-2014 Budegt. Thanks to Paul and Mike Ciarcia last years Budget was voted on by the Public and not approved as the GOOD OLE BOYS HAD SUGGESTED. Thanks Paul and Mike

The reason that Mike Royston has shattered my Trust a bit is that he appears to have joined the GOOD OLE BOYS. Mike ROYSTON, I believe at his 2nd Official Meeting ,openly admitted that he had suggested that the 2nd Public Input be illiminated. I understand that sometimes we may want to get on with our personal business and make time to see our families. However to be Predudice against a Public Speaker because they talk to long or are very repetitive is not a reason to illiminate the 2nd Public Input for Agenda items only. Mike, I’m sure your suggestion was passed unanimously because the rest of he Police Commission has the same Prejudice. Mike, you, perhaps unknowingly, played right ito he hands of he GOOD OLE BOYS. You were quick to notice that the Police Dispatcher’s Salaries were going to icrease 8% with the signing of their New Contract of course this was with MAJOR CONSESSIONS by the Dispatchers UNION.

Mike, I would ask that you consider the importance of the Public Iput because his can help wih clarifying questions that the Public may have and bring about more TRANSPARENCY and ACCOUNTABILY from the Police Commission and THIS IS  WHY I VOTED FOR YOU!

Here is a question for the Windsor Locks Public and Tax Payers. If he Major Crime( Robberies , Drugs Murder etc ) decrease for 2013 or, in he future, is it because we have added additional officers  or is it that the Town of Windsor Locks does not have the Outrageous Crime Rate, as depicted by Commissioner Brace, to justify additional Personnel. I believe that the Public will be shocked at the increase I the overall Police Budget for 2013-2014. Our Officer have 4.3 miles to Patrol and a population of approximately 13,000 residents. You can answer this question yourself

 Mike Royston,if you are not the open minded Police  Commissioner that I voted for then I suggest that you resign . Please don’t join he Good Ole Boys and perhaps you and Police Commissioner Rachele can make a difference.
