Patch's Poll: How Do You Keep Your Home Cool in This Heat Wave?

Do you use air conditioning? Fans? Both? Or do you just keep the windows open?

It is, yet again, another hot day in Connecticut.

Temperatures are expected to rise to the low-90’s on Wednesday, as the nation grapples with the continual string of heat waves throughout July. It's important note, however, that thunderstorms are expected after 2 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.

As we hit a third day in a row of high temperatures this week, we’d like to know: how are you keeping your homes cool? Do you run your air conditioners most of the day? Or do you just keep a bunch of fans going? Or how about just keeping the windows open and letting the good old natural air come in?

, this year, we celebrate the 110th birthday of the air conditioner. Imagine enduring this heat without such a convenient invention.

So, Patch readers, how do you prefer to keep the air cool in your homes? Take our poll and share your thoughts in the comments.

Representative Davis is a smart young man. He obviously gets it, which certainly isn't thatRead More difficult. Unfortunately, the large majority of Democrats don't get it, and they are ruining our state. Take note David Kiner, Chris Davis has a clue, he gets it! As Mr. Davis has suggested, we are a ticking time bomb and unless we correct this spending and borrowing problem NOW we are absolutely doomed. We are on the same path places like Detroit have gone down and, as I'm sure you are all aware, that city is a wasteland. Since the Democrats have displayed an inability to do what is right for our state, each and every one of them needs to be voted out of office and replaced by leaders with a sense of fiscal discipline. Leaders that will spend OUR money with care. The future of our state, for ourselves and our children, depends on it!
