Dine in style at Merlot on the Water

in East Windsor is hosting a New Year’s Eve celebration for $84.95 per person, which includes a five-hour open bar, from 7 p.m. to midnight. The buffet includes New York strip steak, chicken kiev and crabmeat stuffed filet of sole. Individual tickets or group seating by tables of 10 are available. Dinner and dancing at La Renaissance

is hosting an evening of dinner and dancing with an open bar, DJ entertainment and dinner. Dinner choices include prime rib, chicken Francaise, baked stuffed shrimp or vegetarian lasagna. There will be hot hors d’oeuvres before dinner, as well as cheese platters. There will be a champagne toast at midnight and morning pastries and coffee available after midnight. Complimentary transportation will be provided to the Hilton Garden Inn and the Holiday Inn Express. Reservations are $85 per person, due at the time of reservation. A local Indian restaurant, India Kitchen, is hosting a New Year’s Eve event at the Bradley Hotel in Windsor Locks. The evening begins at 6 p.m. , featuring an Indian buffet, a magic show for kids, Indian DJ and dancing, and continues to 2 a.m. Tickets are $40 for adults, $10 for kids. There is a cash bar. Get your game on at Nomad’s Adventure Quest

Nomad’s New Year’s celebration at Red’s Tavern will include an appetizer buffet, live music, dancing, party favors, champagne toast and one drink ticket. There will be free billiards and mechanical bull rides and half-price video games. Watch the ball drop on the projection screens. Admission is $25 for single person, $40 per couple, with additional options for video games and adventures. Additional $5 for a breakfast at 1 a.m. Nomads will be open until 3 a.m.

Celebrate First Night in Hartford

For an outdoor, family-friendly event, head to Hartford for the annual First Night, which includes professional musicians, artists, performance groups and exhibits. There will be two fireworks shows, at 6 p.m. and midnight at Bushnell Park. There will be various activities for kids, including crafts, magic shows, face painting and more. There is free skating throughout the day and evening at Bushnell Park.
Tickets are $10 for adults, $2 for ages 3-15, ages 2 and younger are free. Tickets are available online and at different locations throughout the region.
