Community Corner

Moving forward on the right path

Do you want to keep Windsor Locks moving in a positive direction?  If so, then you should elect me as a member of the Board of Finance!  My name is Stephan Brown, Jr., and Windsor Locks has been my home for 35 years; a 1994 graduate of Windsor Locks High School.  Currently, I serve as an alternate member of the Board of Finance, but I am seeking a position as a voting member.

I am a volunteer firefighter, have served as a past chairman of the Juvenile Review Board, and I am currently working on my Masters in Business Administration.  My current full-time job at the University of New Haven Financial Aid Office provides me with the opportunity to counsel and educate a diverse population of students and their families.  My passion is finance, and I know I can offer a fresh perspective if elected.  I have a vested interest in the community as a taxpayer, just like each of you.  I do not come with a personal agenda; I want the best for the town and everyone in it.

By asking questions and analyzing results, I am able to get to the bottom line and see the whole picture.  I will make informed decisions, based on facts, and always take the overall needs of the town into account.  Each budget submitted by the various offices and commissions affects the finances of the town; you need someone who is going to do what’s best for all, not just for some.

I hope to see you at the polls on November 5, 2013!
