State Rep. Peggy Sayers will serve as Connecticut State Director with the national organization Women In Government following her election to this position by her fellow state legislative colleagues.

State Representative Peggy Sayers (D-Windsor, Windsor Locks) will serve as
Connecticut State Director with the national organization Women In Government
following her election to this position by her fellow state legislative
colleagues.

Women In Government is a national, non-profit, non-partisan
organization of women state legislators providing leadership opportunities,
networking, expert forums, and educational resources. Women In Government
serves all 1,746 women who serve in state legislatures from across the
country.

"This is a very exciting opportunity to not only work with legislators from other states, but also bring some of the best ideas out there to Connecticut for consideration," said Sayers, currently a Deputy Majority Leader in the House of Representatives. "Ultimately, I'm responsible for serving my constituents in Windsor and Windsor Locks and this experience will enhance my ability to represent my communities."

Women In Government provides legislators the opportunity to
network with colleagues across state borders and share best practices and
experiences to advance successful public policies.

“Women In Government congratulates Rep. Sayers in her position
as a State Director.  State Directors play a critical role in setting
policy priorities for our organization,” said Marjorie Maginn, President and
Executive Director of Women In Government.  “Rep. Sayers is a recognized
leader in her state, and we are excited that she will now share her leadership
skills with other women policymakers throughout the country.”

The 2013 Women In Government agenda of issues includes
healthcare reform, diabetes, emerging issues in energy policy, cervical cancer
prevention, the current status of women in state legislatures, childhood
obesity, public health and economic security.

Representative Davis is a smart young man. He obviously gets it, which certainly isn't thatRead More difficult. Unfortunately, the large majority of Democrats don't get it, and they are ruining our state. Take note David Kiner, Chris Davis has a clue, he gets it! As Mr. Davis has suggested, we are a ticking time bomb and unless we correct this spending and borrowing problem NOW we are absolutely doomed. We are on the same path places like Detroit have gone down and, as I'm sure you are all aware, that city is a wasteland. Since the Democrats have displayed an inability to do what is right for our state, each and every one of them needs to be voted out of office and replaced by leaders with a sense of fiscal discipline. Leaders that will spend OUR money with care. The future of our state, for ourselves and our children, depends on it!
