Attorney Yagaloff will protect vulnerable children and I support him for Probate Judge

The Probate Court has a special responsibility for children, and electing a Probate Judge with the right experience is particularly important if we are going to protect the most vulnerable children in our community.  Attorney Keith Yagaloff is committed to helping children in the Probate Court and this is one of the reasons I support his election on August 21st.

Connecticut Probate Courts handle complex and difficult cases involving children.  The Court commissioned a study by Casey Family Services to examine the management of children’s matters.  The study found a need to link services for children, to monitor children in their guardianship families, and a lack of training and experience in judges.  One goal is to keep children out of the court and  welfare system by intervening early in the child’s life and identifying services and support and avoid the need for child protective services.    

Attorney Yagaloff understands the need for participation of family members in treatment planning and decision making.   He knows that good assessments and appropriate services can help save these vulnerable children from a life of failure.Probate Courts hear matters involving children such as guardianships, temporary custody, immediate temporary custody, adoption, standby guardians, removal of parents as guardians, and appointment of guardians of the person and estate of minors.   Attorney Yagaloff has represented children in the courts and he been trained and approved as a Guardian Ad Litem for minors.  He has extensive experience in the field of mental illness and special education.  He has an excellent relationship with DCF and state agencies, including the Department of Social Services.
