CT Valley Views - Is the Office of The Victim Advocate Victimized?

CT Valley Views Host, Susan Regan interviews Michelle Cruz, current State of CT Victim Advocate to ascertain the status of the OVA:  Its objectives, responsibilities, and interface with relevant State agencies, protective services, judicial system and the victims they serve.

After five consecutive years of service in the OVA as of November, 2012 with her four year appointment  expiring in April of 2012, there has been a recent job posting for her position – cogent or of concern to the safety of CT’s residents?  The question is whether the timing of the posting signals a change in OVA’s independent authority to protect victims because of the recent establishment of the Early Release Program.

The program may be seen on Cox/Enfield Channel 15, Friday November 16th and 23th at 6:00 PM. This and all programs are available online at www.ctvalleyviews.com.
