Rainy Day Possible Wednesday, WL High School Homecoming Next Week, Warehouse Point FD Pig Roast

Five Things to Know before you start your Wednesday.

 

1. It’s Wednesday and, unfortunately, there’s 50 percent chance of rain with a high temperature of 63 degrees, according to The Weather Channel. Tonight will also have a 50 percent chance of rain with a low temperature of 41 degrees.


2. On This Day in: 1845, The United States Naval Academy opened in Annapolis, MD; 1959, Pan American World Airways announced the beginning of the first global airline service; 1965, The Red Baron made his first appearance in the "Peanuts" comic strip; 1973, Vice President Spiro Agnew resigned after being charged with federal income tax evasion; 1977,  Joe Namath played the last game of his National Football League (NFL) career; 1985, U.S. fighter jets forced an Egyptian plane to land in Italy so that the hijackers of the Italian cruise ship Achilles Lauro could be arrested; and 2001, President George W. 4. The Warehouse Point Volunteer Fire Department is having a pig roast fundraiser from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. October 13. The pig roast will be held rain or shine. BYOB

5. The East Windsor Chamber of Commerce will be holding a mini trade show at its next business after hours from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. October 24. The event will benefit the East Windsor Education Foundation and will be held Baymont Inn and Suites.

Chamber members can buy a table/booth for $25 which will be donated to foundation, which provides grants to educational opportunities to East Windsor school system and beyond.
