March Nor'easter Leaves the Area Unscathed

Strong winds and little snow graced Windsor Locks and East Windsor overnight, but school is on as scheduled and the power is still on.

The lights are on and the roads are fairly clear. The Nor’easter predicted for the area didn’t materialize to be the troublemaker as had been warned.

As of 5:45 a.m., schools in Windsor Locks and East Windsor were operating on a normal scheduled and the Connecticut Light & Power map showed not outages for the area.

The National Weather Service continued to post a winter weather advisory and a hazardous weather outlook for the region, primarily because of the strong winds and gusts coming through the area.

Snow is forecasted to fall throughout the day, but the accumulation totals now are predicted to be less than three inches. It will continue to snow overnight, gradually turning to rain by mid-day Friday.

The good news is that the weekend most sunny and pretty warm, with temperatures near 50ºF.
