Grove Cemetery Association Offering Reward For Hit and Run Damage Done to Fence

Someone in a Jeep Grand Cherokee crashed into the fence on School Street.

 

On or about May 13, a vehicle crashed through the Grove Cemetery fence on School Street causing substantial damage. The driver fled the scene.

Repair is estimated to be $1,500. Pieces of the vehicle found at the scene have been identified as belonging to a Jeep Grand Cherokee which is likely black in color.

The Grove Cemetery Association is offering a reward of $200.00 for information leading to the arrest of the driver who crashed the fence.

Dennis Gragnolati, a member of cemetery board, said the crash left a big hole in the fence.

Grove Cemetery is non-denominational and is operated by an association of unpaid volunteers. The recession has adversely affected all aspects of the economy, including cemeteries.The Grove Cemetery Association has been struggling to remain solvent in this environment and this type of unexpected expense can be ruinous.
