Town Hall's 'Toys for Joy' Collects Gifts for East Windsor Children

Drop off unwrapped new toys until Dec. 17.

The annual "Toys for Joy" drive is on once again, which means that East Windsor Town Hall has a big box that needs to be filled with unwrapped gifts for children.

The box is located outside the Town Clerk's office and the toys will go directly to East Windsor boys and girls in need, Marlene Bauer, administrative assistant, said Monday.

"It's something the town's been doing for as long as I remember," Bauer said.

The need for toys stretches from infants to young teens, she said. In the toy box now is a huge stuffed lion.

"Mostly people just bring in whatever they'd like to donate," she said.

The town's Human Services Department then sets up a store of sorts so that parents can come in and choose appropriate items for their children.

"They all go to local kids in East Windsor," Bauer said.
