Town Meeting on Historic Station Acquistion

Mark your calendars for Tuesday, July 9th at 7:30 in the Town Hall for a Town Meeting to vote on the acquisition of the historic train station by the Town of Windsor Locks for $1. We have the opportunity to secure control over this histori...c asset in the community and work for its long-awaited restoration. Design of the restoration is already underway by Crosskey Architects of Hartford, experts in historic restoration projects. The design is being completed utilizing state grant funds. The station is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. We anticipate securing additional state and foundation grant funds for the restoration. Initial vision is to utilize the building as the Bradley Area Visitors Center and Ella T. Grasso Museum. The historic station would have a key role in the area proposed for the relocated train platform as part of the New Haven-Hartford-Springfield Commuter Rail Line.See More
